I was wondering what this means… *be aware that stores ring in B1G1 sales differently so this may not be a freebie for all! (You have this with the Clean and Clear deal.)
How would it be different? Just curious. I have three of these coupons that I didn’t get to use when CVS had these on sale several weeks ago because the were out, and have been ever since! Thanks!
Hi Courtney – Last week there was a B1G1 free Right Guard body wash deal and a B1G1 free coupon. Some stores rang in the deal as:
Right Guard #1 $4.49
Right Guard #2 FREE
…in this case the B1G1 free coupon made both items free.
Other stores rang in the deal as if it were a 50% off sale:
Right Guard #1 $2.24
Right Guard #2 $2.24
…in this case the B1G1 free coupon took $2.24 off and you paid $2.24 for both.
This may not happen with the Clean & Clear deal this week, but I wanted to give a heads up just in case it was weird like last week
I see! Thanks for clearing that up for me. I’m still getting the hang of this.
Even if they do it like a 50% off sale, it’s still a pretty good deal, I think!
Hi,
here is my experience:
Today, I went to the store (Chicago, IL), purchased 2 Clean & Clear Morning Burst Body Wash, BUT the manager said it’s not possible to use my coupon and get both for free, because I HAVE TO BUY ONE in order to get one free. And because Walgreens already gives me BOGO deal, I can’t combine their BOGO sale with my BOGO coupon.
Noema
Hi Noema – that will be the case in a few stores, depending on the manager and the cashier you get. They do not have the specifics of using a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale spelled out in their corporate coupon policy:
http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp
But my experience corresponding with corporate in the past shows that they do accept B1G1 coupons for B1G1 sales.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/6947163/Wags-Coupon-Policy
Again, depends on the manager if they are going to go along with the corporate consensus. The store gives us one free for the sale, and they are reimbursed by the manufacturer for the coupon so it is just like cash to them.
Hi Lori,
and links!
. My experience has been rarely pleasant with using coupons in this Walgreens store. A few weeks ago a cashier even made a comment about “making their lives easier by not using coupons”. Unfortunately, this store is the only one in my close neighborhood, so I have to be more creative with my shopping&saving
.
thanks for your replay
Well, I am probably “unlucky one” who’s both the cashier and the manager does not like coupons at all
N.
RE: Clean & Clear B1G1 deal
I started couponing at Walgreens 2 weeks ago. Have had a great experience all around. The managers really work with me to ensure that I get the savings granted by MQs and everything is fair. Our solutions for Clean & Clear B1G1 was to buy ONE and get two free. As far as they were concerned with that coupon and a purchase Walgreens owed me a free bottle and the manufacturer owed me a free bottle. Sounded really fair to me. (Better than being refused altogether!)
