Wal Mart – $5 Dinners

by Lori on March 1, 2009 · 2 comments

Another $5 Dinner idea, this time from Wal Mart Supercenter. Prices will vary a little from store to store. Here’s what I’ll be cooking up from the San Antonio area stores:

Crock Pot Taco Soup
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1 (16 ounce) can white beans or kidney beans
  • 1 pkg Cascadian Farms Organic Purely Steam super sweet corn
  • 4 cans Muir Glen Fire Roasted Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope ranch dressing mix
  • 1 lb ground beef

Cook beef and drain. Add all ingredients to crock pot and stir. Cook on medium for 2-3 hours. Garnish with whatever you have on hand: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped green onions, or tortilla chips.

Here’s how to save:

Cascadian Farms Organic Purely Steam $1.22
-$1.00 printable HERE
Final Price: $.22

Muir Glen Fire Roasted Chopped Tomatoes $1.18
-$1.00 printable HERE and HERE
Final Price: $.18

McCormick seasoning packs $.50
-$.25/2 from 1/18 SS
Final Price: $.37

Stop back on Tuesday for my $.50 or Less Shopping list to find the best bargains at WalMart and other national chain stores. I’ll have a $5 Dinner for Super S stores later in the week. You can find dozens of other $5 Dinner ideas HERE.

Wal Mart price source: The Centsible Sawyer. Thanks, Denise!

If you have the spices on hand, you could always make your own seasonings…I do and keep them in little tupperware containers.
