SWAGBUCKS WARNING

November 6, 2009 · 11 comments

For those of you who have been saving your Swagbucks to cash in for Christmas gift cards, it appears they have just implemented a new rule:

“We are sorry for the inconvenience, prize orders are limited to 5 per month. Please place your order again next month”.

Terrible timing for a rule change, just before Christmas. My apologies to anyone (like myself) who was counting on this for holiday gifts! Good news is that it appears the limit applies to Amazon gift cards only.

UPDATE: We’ve now learned that the rule is LIMIT 5 PER TYPE of prize. HERE is my most recent post. I have officially “taken a chill pill” as my daughter would say.

Hey Lori, thanks for the heads up. Do you know if this is limited to Amazon cards or if it applies to all prize orders?

Thanks!

That is horrible since I get way more than 5 per month and I'm not saving them! Yikes!

Looks like it only applies to Amazon gift cards. I just ordered a Target gc with no problem.

I believe it limits it to 5 of everything. Like 5 Amazon.com, 5 Paypal, 5 Target etc. I noticed the alert first when I maxed out on Paypal and then again when I maxed out on Amazon.com. I'm so bummed out!

Can someone tell me how long the Amazon GC's are good for? I have not redeemed any Swagbucks yet as I was saving them for Xmas.

If I redeem five, will they be aved on my amazon account or do i have to use them then? How long will they stay on there before expiring?

Do you think this is per month or per pay period? Because Amazon is paid twice per month, I can only hope so.

I was afraid something like this would happen, so I try to buy them each time I hit 45 SB.

There's nothing else that looks comparable- other than the Target GC, but it's just an e-GC, and Target isn't known for their great shipping rates.

Silvanafv – yes! I save mine until I can pay for entire order for FREE! Stuff you should know:
-you can only redeem for 2 items per day. So if you want 4 $5 amazon gc's it would take you 2 days to redeem.
-your gift cards stay in PENDING until the 16th and 30th of every month. On those days you'll get emails with your gift card codes. I believe they are good for one year.
-there is a place on amazon under MY ACCOUNT that says REDEEM GIFT CARD or something like that. You can enter your gift card codes so you have a balance when you decide to shop. Just keep adding them and adding them.

The last chance you'll have to earn amazon gcs for Christmas is 12/15. You'll get them on 12/16.
