n6

Heads up!  This Sunday only (1/26) at Walgreens, we have a stock-up price on Nature Valley Granola Bars. They will be on sale for 2/$5, with 1000 Balance Rewards points on two. Plus we will earn a $2 Register Reward when we purchase four of them. The RR deal was a month-long offer, but it expires on Sunday. Here’s your scenario:

(4) Nature Valley Granola Bars 12 ct. @ 2/$5 = $10

Earn 2000 BR points on four
Earn $2 RR on four (valid 1/26 only)
-$0.50/1 Nature Valley 1/5 or 1/26 SS insert, use four
Final Price: $1 per box

As an alternative, you can use the $0.50/2 Nature Valley printable coupons and end up paying $1.25 per box.

  1. Wags employees, a manager and an employee at another store told me that the balance rewards can only be earned once per transaction.
I had never heard this and just assumed it was ok based on the scenarios put together.
However, I bought alot of nexxus when they had a reward. None of the rewards showed up but when I called corporate, they gave them to me and didn’t say anything about having to split my orders.
Do you know what the truth is and where it is printed so i can have it with me or point it out when i go?
In other words if you get 1000 pts on 2 items, they told me you won’t get 2000 points if you buy 4 unless you purchase 2, then in another transaction purchase 2 more.
I have to say, i am terrible about checking my receipts for these points but a while back I bought like 32 shampoo thinking I was getting a rewrd for every 8 I bought. grrrr

    • Hi again, Shelli – Yes, you CAN get 2000 BR points when you buy four in one transaction. Your store employees were mistaken. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for store employees to have a spotty understanding of their own programs and policies. You can find the full Terms and Conditions for Balance Reward program here: http://www.walgreens.com/images/balancerewards/BalanceRewards_termsandconditions.pdf

The closest they get to spelling it out is on page three where they say: “Company reserves the right to limit Points awarded with respect to any offer or promotion to reasonable household quantities.” If there was a limit one per transaction it would say so on this document. It does not. I myself did this scenario, so I know from personal experience that it worked.

I learned a lot in the beginning by reading hotcouponworld’s store posts. Here’s the Walgreens page. Hope that helps :) http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens/
