Do you have a good meatball recipe you can share?

  2. Hi – I “eyeball” my meatball recipe, so I don’t really have one to give. But I can tell you that it consists of 3 parts ground chuck to one part sausage. Then I add 1-3 eggs depending on the size of the batch, ketchup, a dash (or three)of hot sauce and 1-2 cups Quaker old fashioned oats (probably about 1 cup oats per 3-4 lbs meat). Most people prefer to use bread crumbs, but I don’t like my meatballs to taste “fluffy”.

I broil them on a broiler pan for just a few minutes, let them cool on paper towels and freeze.

Sorry it’s not more scientific than that =)

SO funny… I bought a recipe book called “101 ways to prepare meatballs” and I used it on my family. By the 3rd recipe (not on successive nights) they were all like, “Uh, we dont’ like meatballs. Please stop serving them.”

Oh great, now you tell me. Now i have 3 more pounds of meatballs to use up! LOL

  4. This is a great idea! I have loads of meatballs in the freezer and am always looking for new ways to make them! Thanks!
