DIY Italian Dressing Mix

April 30, 2012 · 0 comments

I love making my own italian dressing, but those little packets of dressing mix have become so expensive! Here’s a nice alternative to the store-bought mixes that yields a fresh italian flavor to any salad.

DIY Italian Dressing Mix
Recipe type: Side
Prep time:
Total time:

Ingredients
  • 4 Tbs. Salt
  • 2 Tbs. Oregano
  • 2 Tbs. Parsley
  • 2 Tbs. Sugar
  • 2 Tbs. Garlic Salt
  • 2 Tbs. Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp. Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp. Basil
  • ½ tsp. Celery Salt

Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and store in airtight container.
  2. To make salad dressing, add 2 Tbs. dressing mix, ¼ c. vinegar, 3 Tbs. water, and ½ c. vegetable oil or olive oil. Shake well and serve.

.

This recipe yields enough to make your dressing roughly seven times.  Stores well for up to 4 months in an airtight container.  I like the Ziploc jars with screw-on lids (shown above).
