I love making my own italian dressing, but those little packets of dressing mix have become so expensive! Here’s a nice alternative to the store-bought mixes that yields a fresh italian flavor to any salad.
- 4 Tbs. Salt
- 2 Tbs. Oregano
- 2 Tbs. Parsley
- 2 Tbs. Sugar
- 2 Tbs. Garlic Salt
- 2 Tbs. Onion Powder
- 2 tsp. Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
- ½ tsp. Basil
- ½ tsp. Celery Salt
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly and store in airtight container.
- To make salad dressing, add 2 Tbs. dressing mix, ¼ c. vinegar, 3 Tbs. water, and ½ c. vegetable oil or olive oil. Shake well and serve.
This recipe yields enough to make your dressing roughly seven times. Stores well for up to 4 months in an airtight container. I like the Ziploc jars with screw-on lids (shown above).
