Clever Idea for Freezing Homemade Soup

September 26, 2011 · 4 comments

The Mommy In Charge shows us how she makes homemade soup and freezes in a muffin tin. When it’s time to serve, just reheat 2-3 “pucks” per person!

Oh I love this! I can freeze soups I make and put 1-2 pucks in a small plastic container and send them with my fiance to work. By lunch time they’ll be halfway thawed and easily heat in the microwave. Since they’re frozen I’ll worry less about them leaking out all over everything else!

I love this idea. Just wondering though, how in the world do you have room for this in your freezer?!

As soon as the soup is frozen, put the pucks in a plastic container or sealed bag.

Oh my! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this myself. I made a large batch of chicken stock over the weekend and froze it using this method. I can now just take as much stock as I need instead of having to defrost a huge tub and end up wasting most of it. Amazing idea!!
