Joy’s Hope shares an inspiring idea called Blessing Bags – Ziploc bags filled with items for the homeless. This is an awesome way to use your excess from your stockpile and bless someone else. I love this idea because it’s so simple and hands-on. You could enlist the help of the kiddos in assembling these bags and use it as a life lesson about giving.
This is something we couponers can do, y’all.
Most of us have a stash of toiletries and snack items we can part with.
I’d like to challenge you to consider doing this for the holiday season. Start now. Plan your couponing trips to include extra travel size items and freebies, and start assembling your bags. Many stores still have good deals on Ziploc bags for back-to-school, so it’s the perfect time to get started! By Thanksgiving we can have at least a dozen ready to go. Then donate them to your local homeless shelter, or give them directly to the homeless if you live in an area where you pass by them regularly.
I don’t know about you, but I am excited about this idea! Thanks again to Joy’s Hope for the inspiration!
