Bargains & Loss Leaders in February

Couponing is a great way to save big at the store. But it isn’t the only way. By learning the store sale cycles, you can stock up on grocery, household and personal care items when they’re at their rock bottom prices. You can also save big on clothing, furniture, electronics, tools and just about everything else if you know when to buy. Here’s a summary of some items you can expect to find at their lowest prices in February.

February is Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, National Canned Food Month and National Hot Breakfast Month. Expect grocery deals to reflect these events. Examples:

  • Chocolate
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • Frozen Waffles
  • Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches
  • Breakfast Meats
  • Refrigerated Rolls and Pastries
  • Waffle Mix
  • Muffin Mix
  • Syrup

  • Canned Vegetables
  • Canned Meats
  • Canned & Packaged Chinese Food

From my time as an interior design consultant, I learned that new furniture lines typically become available this month, which means nice savings on the old models. We’ll also benefit from the release of new electronics models in January and see nice markdowns on items like laptops, GPS units, audio equipment and the like. And don’t forget President’s Day on Monday February 18th, when retail stores will be plastering sale signs in every window and offering additional savings with printable or in-ad coupons. As always, I’ll have these coupons listed for you on Fridays.

  • Furniture
  • Home Accessories
  • Electronics
  • Video Games
  • Outerwear
  • Clothing
  • Boots
  • Slippers
  • Tools
