This is the deal that I emailed you about, I inadvertantly said it was a P&G insert in Sunday’s paper but it was a Unilever insert and my Target is not honoring the $5 gift cards. I went there today and had 4 Degree and 4 free Clear and 4 Dove and they would not give me my gift cards. I had the manager come over and he contacted corporate, I also did when I got home, and he stated they will not give gift cards on any Unilever purchase, so I had to have those 12 items removed from my cart. When I called corporate they stated they knew nothing about a Unilever $5 gift card promotion. I would like to know if anyone else has tried this and if they were able to get their gift cards.
Hi Candie – this offer was not advertised in the Target ad, but on the cover of the Unilever insert. The fine print did mention that it was a “partner offer” which I suppose means that Unilever is reimbursing Target for it? This is a new one, but may be why it is not programmed into the registers at some stores? Just a guess.
Other readers have said they had to show the ad at the store in order to get them to honor it…while some folks say the gift card was automatically triggered at the register. So for now it is an iffy deal working only for some. I have edited the post to reflect this so folks are aware. Thanks for the comment.
