5 More Skills To Pay The Bills

Each day this week, I’ll be bringing you five different ideas for earning from home. Before pursuing any of these, be sure to do your homework. You can use the Google search box on this page, or go to Google.com to learn all you can about the reputation of these companies and about the jobs themselves. HERE is yesterday’s post.

1) Freelance Writing – if you love to write, there are several ways to find work. First start by deciding on a niche. What would you love to write about? Think about your areas of expertise, and choose something you would feel passionate about researching and sharing on a regular basis.
Next, make a list of magazines, newspapers, newsletters or other publications that would work well in your chosen niche. Contact the editors and ask for their writers guidelines. Be prepared to submit a sample of your writing. Finally, you can visit the following sites for more info and freelance opportunities:
2) Become an eJuror – This is a new one for me. Never heard of it until I started researching for this series. Turns out, you can get paid to be part of a mock jury/focus group that helps attorneys prepare for trial. Pay typically ranges from $10-$60 depending on the trial length:
3) Become a Freelance Translator – If your native language is something other than English, there are many companies looking for document translation. Expect to take a proficiency test and sign a non-disclosure statement. Here are some resources:
4) Home Based Nurses – Provide phone-based triage and advice from home. You can contact your local medical center to see if they contract with home based nurses, or try these companies:

This is an awesome series. I just love your skills to pay the bills button/icon. It is too cute.

Freelance writing is a great way to help pay the bills. It is something that I plan on starting to get into very soon.
