UPDATE: BOOKLETS ARE GONE! THANKS FRANCES! My bloggy friend Frances has a great blog called Frugal Fairhope. I always find great deals posted here that aren’t listed elsewhere! Stop over HERE and read her post about the new CVS beauty coupon booklet she found, and a list of all the great coupons contained. Lucky for us, Frances has some extra books she’d be happy to share!!! The first (8) readers to comment on her post HERE, mention Moms by Heart, and request a booklet will get one! Be sure to leave an email address so she can contact you!
While you’re there, why not subscribe to her feed! Thanks so much Frances!
Next week it’s time for another round of once a month cooking. But for now, I have an easy menu! I have enough freezer meals left for 5 dinners. You can read about how I plan my meals HERE. Here’s what else I’ll be making:
Welcome to my new series: Skills to Pay the Bills! In this economy, moms are required to use good old fashioned American ingenuity to keep the family finances on track. So I’ve done some research and come up with several unique ways to earn from home. Each day this week, I’ll be bringing you five different ideas. Before pursuing any of these, be sure to do your homework. You can use the Google search box on this page, or go to Google.com to learn all you can about the reputation of these companies and about the jobs themselves. Here goes:
2) Verification Agent – Have you ever changed your long distance service, and been asked to hold for a 3rd party verification agent? Chances are, that agent was working from home. Visit VoiceLog for information on becoming an independent contractor.
3) Virtual Publicist – There are literally thousands of virtual public relations firms across the country who are looking for experienced PR people. If you have experience in writing, event planning, promotions, pitching or marketing, contact one of these companies for more information. * Perkett PR * Bisbee & Co. * Orca Communications * Google search for “virtual public relations firm”
4) Telemarketing – At home opportunities exist for appointment setting, cold calling, debt collection and more. * Telereach * Intrep
5) Online Tutoring – Attention college graduates. Connect with students online as a tutor in a variety of subjects. Positions require you to take a competency test and some require previous teaching experience. Here is a list of sources: * Tutor.com * TutorVista * Tutorzilla * TutorNation * Kaplan * ASAP Tutor
MyPoints.com This is a site I use for free restaurant meals and free Target gift cards. It’s been around for over 10 years, and I have personally earned over $100 in gift cards without $1 spent out of pocket. On average, I earn a $10 GC every 6 weeks. Here’s how it works:
-Read MyPoints bonus mail: 10-20 times per week, you’ll receive email from MyPoints with an advertisement. Each email is worth 5 points, which works out to be 50-100 points per week. This is where about half of my points come from. Takes just seconds to earn these, and they really add up.
-On the MyPoints homepage you’ll find a button (top right) that says EasyPoints. You can earn up to 500 points for signing up for newsletters from well known name brands like: Bisquick, Remedy Life, Slim Fast, etc.
-Occasionally you’ll get a MyPoints SurveyMail email, usually worth 50-100 points when you complete the survey.
-If you have online shopping to do, begin at MyPoints and earn points for every dollar spent.
-Refer a friend for 250 points.
-Download the MyPoints toolbar (optional) and earn points for searches!
-Over 70 merchants to choose from when redeeming your points. My favorite: $10 Olive Garden/Red Lobster gift card is 1400 points. $10 Target gift card is 1550 points.
My recommendations: Before signing up for MyPoints HERE, create a new email address. That way, when you sign up for newsletters and receive your bonus mail it won’t get mixed in with your personal emails. Remember to use the same email address with all offers, surveys, freebies, etc. and be sure to check your bulk/spam folder, as that is where most of my bonus mail ends up.
