Who is God?

I’ve been asked many times why I believe God is the God of the Bible. While there are many answers to that question, my greatest evidence is through my relationship with Him. He has transformed my life in ways that aren’t humanly possible. But for those who don’t yet believe, this answer is too subjective. They need something measurable. So here goes.

The thing that sets Christianity apart from other religious is fulfilled prophecy. Prophecy is a prediction that was made in the Old Testament. A prophet “hears from God” and records what he hears. Then many years later we see if/when it comes to pass. In the Bible, God is batting a thousand for fulfilled prophesy. Never wrong so far. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ alone. Things he could not have possibly ordained for himself. Things like what his genealogy would be…where he would be born…how he would die…
Here are just a few. The first scripture verse listed is the prophecy. The second one is the record from the New Testament of Jesus’ life that shows the fulfillment.
